Founded in
Uganda in 1999, The Obsessions began as a dance-only company of five girls and five boys. After two years of establishing dance on a professional level the boys ventured out into
African music, leaving the girls to be the face of The Obsessions, then a dance entertainment and theatrical production outfit. With Sharon Salmon and Jaki Tusiime as leading artists, the girls later got into music, releasing hit songs such as “Jangu”. Transformed from choreographers into bona fide
afropop singers with well choreographed dance routines, The Obsessions are today one of Africa’s most exciting, charismatic and well accomplished performers.
