Sherine Ahmed Abdel Wahhab, also known as Shereen or simply Sherine, is an Arabic pop artist born on October 10, 1980 in Cairo, Egypt. Since her early childhood, Sherine had a passion for and a strong inclination towards singing. Her music features influences from local African music styles such as traditional Egyptian tarab voice techniques and the use of traditional Egyptian music instruments of the Shaabi genre. In 2002, Sherine released her first album as a solo artist which featured the title track, "Garh Tani" that became a massive hit.
