Fondly nicknamed the "Princess of Africa", Yvonne Chaka Chaka has been at the forefront of mbaqanga - South African popular music, for the last few decades. Born Yvonne Machaka in 1965, in Soweto, South Africa, Yvonne loved singing in church choirs as a child. In 1985, she began her career in music at the age of 19 when she was discovered in Johannesburg. Shortly after, she released her debut album which became an instant hit.
