Helen Folasade Adu, better known as Sade, is an adult contemporary musician, the front woman and lead vocalist of the English group Sade. Sade was born on 16 January 1959 in Oyo State, Nigeria to a Nigerian lecturer and an English nurse. Later while at college in England, Sade joined Pride band, through which her performances earned her a solo record deal. She took three members of Pride along with her to form the band Sade. Her band has to date produced a string of hits including the classic “No Ordinary Love” that have contributed in solidifying Sade Adu’s African music legacy as the most successful solo female artist in British history. Read more on Wikipedia...
