Khalid Mohamed, commonly known as TID, is a bongo flava musician, born in 1981 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. TID is an acronym of Top in Dar, in which "Dar" refers to Dar es Salaam, his hometown. As early as age 7, TID showed an interest in music where he would perform songs of his favourite artists. In 1994, he began singing with a group known as Black Gangsters, and later with a live band called Top Band.
