Born in the United States on March 27, 1981, Olubankole Wellington - better known under the stage name Banky W, is an R&B recording artist. Banky W grew up in Lagos, Nigeria and was singing in his church choir by the age of 8. His music career began with his move to New York to attend college, which saw him win a music competition that catapulted him into the spotlight. Thereafter he quickly became an in-demand artist on the local music scene; performing alongside major acts on tour.
