Artist: Nayanka Bell

Born Louise Aka in 1954 in Touba, Côte d'Ivoire, Nayanka Bell is an Ivorian singer who began her career as a recording artist in the early eighties. Her musical influence came from her grandmother who sang and played the fiddle and her early work was inspired by the Francophone Caribbean. Her style of African music ranges from funk and disco to ballads and shows some Antillean influence. In 2001, following a couple of years of absence, Bell made a comeback with her afro-zouk cover of the Serge Gainsbourg classic “Je t'aime… moi non plus” with Congolese singer Koffi Olomide, which solidified her status as one of the top Ivorian singers. Read more on Wikipedia
