Born Louise Aka in 1954 in Touba, Côte d'Ivoire, Nayanka Bell is an Ivorian singer who began her career as a recording artist in the early eighties. Her style of African music ranges from funk and disco to ballads and shows some Antillean influence. In 2001, following a couple of years of absence, Bell made a comeback with her afro-zouk cover of the Serge Gainsbourg classic “Je t'aime… moi non plus” with Congolese singer Koffi Olomide, which solidified her status as one of the top Ivorian singers.
