Afro-Zouk

Afro-Zouk originates from zouk, a synthesis of Caribbean popular styles, and features elements of soukous. This genre sometimes relies on the soukous guitar and has been popularized by African music stars such as Monique Séka and Oliver N'Goma. Its predecessor Zouk was born in the late 1970s and early 1980s from elements of Antillean music and other imported genres.
