Born in 1985 in Yaoundé, Cameroon, Charlotte
Dipanda is an afropop singer, who mostly plays acoustic music. The
lyrics to Dipanda’s songs are mainly in French, her native language Bakaka
and in Douala. In 2002, Dipanda collaborated with guitarist Jeannot Hens
to produce the critically acclaimed “Ndando” album which featured the megahit “Cathy”.
She later caught the attention of Congolese musician Lokua Kanza, who helped increased
her exposure. Thereafter, Dipanda moved to France and worked with singer
Papa Wemba. She has also provided background vocals for various
African music stars including Manu Dibango and Rokia Traoré. In 2008, Dipanda released her first solo album called "Mispa". Read more on Wikipedia...
