Artist: Chicco

Born in 1963 in South Africa, Sello “Chicco” Twala is a mbaqanga musician simply known as Chicco. Chicco grew up in Soweto surrounded by music from the club his father operated.  In the '70s, he played in soul bands such as Umoja and Sipho "Hotstix" Mabuse's Harari.  He first made a name for himself as a performer in the mid-'80s and later released hit songs such as “I Need Some Money”. He then went on to produce for African music stars such as Yvonne Chaka Chaka and Brenda Fassie.  Today, Chicco has become something of an icon among his peers and fans alike.
