Emile Kangue is a musician from Cameroon, who began his foray into music at the early age of 10 years when he joined The Gospel Singers band. He later joined his first professional band, Les Bandeaux Noires and thereafter played with bands such as L'African Fiesta and L'Uvocot Jazz before forming his own band Les Corniches. In 1970, he co-founded the popular makossa band, The Black Styl, but left in 1979 to form Les Musettes Du Mont Manengouba. Kangue thereafter decided to pursue a solo career in African music, highlighted by the release of hits such as the classic “Douala Infos”. Emile Kangue today ranks among Africa’s top makossa musicians.
