Loketo was a group of musicians from DR Congo, known for their high-energy shows, spectacular dancing and flawless vocals. One of the most important “new generation” bands in the evolution of soukous, Loketo was formed in the late Eighties by Diblo Dibala, undoubtedly the hottest soukous lead guitarist at the time. With Dibala's powerful guitar solos and the equally powerful lead vocals of Aurlus Mabele, Loketo quickly became famous for its dynamic African music rhythms and complex melodies evident in hit songs such as “Tcheke Linha”. The group however began to disintegrate in 1990 when Dibala and band mates Freddy De Majunga, Miguel Yamba, and dancers Antoinette Yelessa and Joelle Esso left to form Matchatcha.
