Born Joseph Kiambukuta Londa on February 14, 1949, Josky Kiambukuta is a
rumba musician from the
Democratic Republic of the Congo. Kiambukuta joined TPOK Jazz sometime in the 1960s and played alongside
Franco during the band’s most popular period - the mid 1960s to the late 1980s. Kiambukuta is credited with composing some of TPOK Jazz's best known songs, and his own massive
African music hit "
Chandra". Following the death of Franco in 1989, Kiambukuta continued playing with TPOK Jazz until 1994 when internal conflicts forced the band to split up. Kiambukuta, together with other TPOK Jazz band members then went on to form a new band by the name Bana OK.
