Artist: Koffi Olomide
Antoine Christophe Agbepa Mumba, popularly known
as Koffi Olomide, is a soukous musician who was born in Kisangani,
in the Democratic Republic of Congo on August 13, 1956. In the 1970s he
joined Papa Wemba's band, Viva la Musica, at first as a composer
and song-writer, and later as a vocalist and lead-singer. In 1986, Koffi launched
his solo career and formed his own band known as Quartier Latin, which produced hits such as "Ultimatum". He popularized
the slower style of soukous, which he dubbed Tcha Tcho and trained many
young musicians such as Fally Ipupa who has since left to build a successful
solo career. Today, Koffi enjoys a legacy as the undisputed king of romantic
rhumba, as well as one of the biggest African music stars.

Artist: Mahlathini & The Mahotella Queens
Mahlathini and the Mahotella Queens (also known as Mahlathini Nezintombi Zomgqashiyo - Mahlathini and the Girls of Mgqashiyo) was a South African mbaqanga supergroup composed of: the late Simon 'Mahlathini' Nkabinde (1937–1999), a bass 'groaning' vocalist; the mgqashiyo session group Mahotella Queens known for their fast-paced dancing (1964–present); and the mbaqanga instrumental band Makgona Tsohle Band (1963–1999). Mahlathini, the Queens and the Makgona Tsohle Band had become famous as individual African music acts, but had frequently recorded together since 1964. In 1986, following increased demand for South African music they were paired up together permanently, thereafter releasing hits such as "Kazet". The group’s existence came to a close following the death of Mahlathini in July 1999. Read more on Wikipedia...

Artist: Josky Kiambukuta
Born Joseph Kiambukuta Londa on February 14, 1949, Josky Kiambukuta is a rumba musician from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Kiambukuta joined TPOK Jazz sometime in the 1960s and played alongside Franco during the band’s most popular period - the mid 1960s to the late 1980s. Kiambukuta is credited with composing some of TPOK Jazz's best known songs, and his own massive African music hit "Chandra". Following the death of Franco in 1989, Kiambukuta continued playing with TPOK Jazz until 1994 when internal conflicts forced the band to split up. Kiambukuta, together with other TPOK Jazz band members then went on to form a new band by the name Bana OK. Read more on Wikipedia...
